Project Overview
Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council is a large authority with a property portfolio of over 400 buildings with a combined floor area in excess of 2,000,000ft2.
Acuity was appointed to assist SMBC to procure a number of service contracts and to establish performance monitoring mechanisms. The Authority wished to procure these contracts on an output based specification incorporating performance measurement criteria as a key management tool. The service provided by Acuity included advice throughout the process, pre-qualification of suppliers, development of tender documentation, tender evaluation and clarification with suppliers on contract and commercial terms. Having completed this exercise for the initial contracts, Acuity has been retained to undertake further work in respect of other service contracts.
Acuity was also subsequently appointed to undertake a strategic review of the organisation structure delivering facilities management to the Authority''s buildings. Key recommendations included areas of potential cost savings, together with structural changes to meet the needs of the Corporate Asset Plan required by the Central Government.
Acuity has chosen to work closely with SMBC in partnership to bring together the skills and experience of the Authority''s staff with the industry knowledge and experience of Acuity''s consultants. In doing so Acuity has delivered value added solutions to the Authority in a cost effective and timely manner.
